Vintage Porn Poster Gallery

Some good posters and pressbook material from vintage porn films. Unfortunately it's not nearly as comprehensive as it should be, but there are a few good posters worth taking a peak at. I particularly like The Abduction of Lorelei poster.

This looks like something that your buddy Robin would dig.
I love these posters. Porn covers with class is an oxymoron, as far as I'm concerned. I utterly loathe most porn designs. I remember when I first when to an adult section at a video store, I was repulsed. Seeing oversized cocks and women in pretzel contortions isn't a turn on. It makes me ill. It's too bad that the porn industry has a lot of it's sense of play. Covers like these are fantastic.

"Couples" porn usually has pretty tasteful covers. Vivid video comes to mind as well with Wicked. But sadly they don't have the great taglines such as the posters there.
But once again, most of the classy porn covers nowadays are back in the 60's, 70's, and 80's.

They might be tasteful, but they lack the artistic and design merits of these older ones. They look like something that could have been (and probably was) shown at a movie theater. I'm guessing that when video became more prevalent, they didn't need to worry about having to show the posters in public places.
It's a shame. A lot of these posters could easily be framed and be shown off as retro kitsh.

the problem with current porn covers, is also in large part due to the fact that whoever the "designer", and I use the term loosely, is they use just about every font their computer has. It creates an unorderly, unappealing design that's an eyesore to anyone looking for something beyond gaping assholes. They're poorly designed rush jobs that anyone with a 15 year old PC could throw together in a half an hour.
That having been said they're an effective design in that they achieve their goal. Personally they don't make me ill usually.
